The technical-scientific alliance for safety assessment and monitoring of bridges and viaducts in Italy is born. The University of Perugia, Polytechnic University of Milan, Polytechnic University of Turin, University of Padua, University of Pisa, University of Camerino, University of Messina, University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli” and ENEA, to be joined very shortly by Sapienza University of Rome, which has already completed the internal approval process, have created the Fabre Consortium (Research Consortium for the Evaluation and Monitoring of Bridges, Viaducts and Other Structures), which will field the most qualified experts and the most advanced technologies to monitor and evaluate the health of our country’s road infrastructure and promote and coordinate activities involving structural and environmental risk classification.
Representing the University of Perugia at the consortium’s founding signing ceremony held at the University of Pisa on July 22 was Prof. Filippo Ubertini, who will take part in the Assembly of Consortium Members together with Prof. Ilaria Venanzi, both of whom are related to DICA.
